What Does Allergic Cols With Numbness & Swelling Of Feet Suggest?

Dear Doctor,I have been diagnosed with an allergy to cold in my toes. They go numb, turn purple and blue, and hurt something awlful when I can feel them. But for the past year or two they hurt worst in the summer. The heat makes my feet swell, my toes go numb or they throb. I think my issue is more a circulation problem. What do you think??

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

I agree with you, it does sound more of a circulatory issue.

You should consider a re evaluation by either your doctor or another for second opinion.
The assessment would include (1)history-need to know if any smoking history because this causes circulation problems, history of high cholesterol, diabetes or hypertension
history of symptoms

(2)examination of the pulses in the feet

(3)investigations such as a doppler ultrasound

I hope this helps
