What Does An Age Risk Of 1:248 Mean On Amniocentesis?
hello! My name is Simona Cristescu, I am for Romania. Yesterday I made an amniocentesis (because I am 35, 6 years old); The Double TEst indicated an Age risk of 1;248; I am pregnant in 19 weeks! After amnio my doctor prescribed me Zinnat 500, 1 pill at 12 hours. My weight is 62 kg.
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Age risk on double marker test means that the risk of having a Down syndrome baby at your age with the results of serum markers is 1:248. The risk is not very high, and amniocentesis might have been done due to any abnormalities in the ultrasound. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
