Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have bee extremely tired since my chemo ended in 2013......I just had a ekg to prepair for foot sugery and my doctor said that it showed a left anterior hemiblock....I am having an echo next week. I have been looking on the internet to find out what that means and I do not like what I see.....By the way...I am 72 years, if that makes a difference.
Hello welcome to HCM. I have read your question and understand your concerns. LAHB (left anterior hemiblock) is very minor abnormality of a conduction system which usually doesn't have any direct bad effects on heart. So don't worry regarding this.
It can be sometimes due to age related degenerative changes but may be seen in ischaemia(reduced blood supply).
No treatment is required for LAHB and no significant concicuances are there. So don't worry.
Doyour echocardiography but it will not confirm LAHB. It will give idea regarding pumping of heart and other valve related informations.
Thank you . Have a nice day.
