my daughter is undergoing surgery 9/1/13 and we have been told that she will be having a HYSTERECTOMY. Her consultant has iagnosed a begign polyps. Can you explain condition in laymans terms. My daughter is 41 and has suffered for many years with heavy painful periods.
Polyps are benign growths from arising from the uterine wall. It has no potential to turn cancerous. Since she is experiencing chronic bleeding for years, hysterectomy is the ideal management.
