Hi,
The possible causes of your spotting are:
- Due to some friction on vaginal tissue and possible small abrasions during intercourse, some amount of spotting can be seen.
- Spotting can be seen during the time of ovulation due to drop in the reproductive
hormonal levels.
- Rarely, local causes like cervical erosion, polyps, etc. can also lead to spotting during intercourse.
If the spotting subsides and doesn't recur, no need to worry and you may not need any specific treatment. If the spotting persists or recurs in future, better to get evaluated. By clinical examination and investigations like
pap smear and vaginal swab for culture and sensitivity, the possible cause of the problem can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
