What Does Brown Vaginal Discharge Indicate?

My period is always regular. It last came on 29 November and should be due on Christmas Day. Tonight for first time ever I experienced very slight bleeding a hour ago. I recently made a move back home from Europe to Latin America after 10 years away and have been busy and stressed I guess. I'm 40 years old with no children. The bleeding seems to have stopped as I write and it was never flowing or heavy. Just streaking and brownish. Should I see a doctor tomorrow?

Hi,
I can understand your concern.
I have read your query carefully. I think-
- your regular period can show signs of physical/psychological stress in form of premature spotting which may be followed by your regular pattern of menses.
-- If you had unprotected sex in ovulation time this month, it may be a pleasent surprise to you, & the bleeding may be this month, & the bleeding may be implantation bleeding- followed by stopping of menses. It can be checked by UPT after 8-10 days / Blood HCG around 25th .
* You can wait & observe the symptoms for few days. & consult your doctor after few days to get a proper diagnosis & management thereafter.
Thanks.
