What does bulky anteverted uterus with heterogeneous myometrial echotexture measuring=63mm in AP diameter. Endometrial cavity is displaced posterior by mass effect. Multiple uterine hypoechoic masses are noted on scan measuring; fundal subserous=53mm x 51mm, fundal intramural=40mm x36mm, anterior intramural (encroaching into the endometrial plate)=67mm x 50mm. What does this mean in lay man s language?

Your findings suggests uterus is enlarged in size and there are also presence of multiple fibroids in the uterus(largest is in subserous region of the uterus measuring 53 x 51 mm).Fibroid is causing alteration in echotexture of uterus.
Treatment of fibroid depend upon many things like age,complications of fibroid,family status etc.
Fibroid is a benign tumour of uterus.
You should consult your gynecologist for further management.

Hi, I have gone through your question. The ultrasound findings that you have posted are indicative that there are three fibroids in the uterus, two at the fundal (topmost)region of the uterus (one on the surface 53 mm x51 mm in size,and one in the wall of uterus 40mm x 36 mm in size). the third fibroid is on the anterior wall of the uterus of 67 mm x 50 mm in size, which is protruding into the uterine cavity. The heterogenous myometrial echotexture means there is associated adenomyosis. I would suggest the person with such a report to undergo surgery (myomectomy or hysterectomy, depending upon your further reproductive planning).
