I have periods of itching, burning, stinging, tingling lips. This happens when I have a lot of stress. I have been to 3 doctors, but nothing has helped. Dermatologist said she has never seen anything like this. Thought it might be hives. Took 7 vials of blood today to run tests on what it might be. I would appreciate any ideas. Doctor prescribed Benadryl and steroid cream.
Hi. As per your case history you are probably having vitamin b12 deficiency. My treatment advice is - 1. Take good nutritious diet full of green leafy vegetables and milk. 2. Apply an emollient cream like Enmoist cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a vitamin b12 supplement once daily for 3 months. 4. Other treatment options are oral levocetrizine, gabapentin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
