What Does Calf Pain Post Kidney Stone Surgery Indicate?

My husband has been having left severe calf pain on getting up to walk and when standing for a long time. His toes are numb. Anytime he sits for awhile or lies down the pain is terrible when he tries to move. The pain gets better as the day goes on but never goes away completely. He had surgery for kidney stones on 7/28/17. About 2 weeks after surgery this started. He has been checked for a DVT and the scans have been negative. It seems as if he may fall when he tries to get up to walk due to the pain. He is 63 years old.

Spine Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

There are chances of injury to lateral cutaneous nerve of thigh during kidney stone removal surgery. but pain never goes below knee. but this is something else. It could be some compression at nerves in lumbar spine. could you please tell me what medications is he taking?

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
