What Does Chest Pain With Spondylitis Suggest?

a 32 year old gentleman has come with the complaints of a mild pain on the right side of the chest. vitals are normal , known histoty of spondulitis since 1 year. Temp : 99.6'f , Pr : 84 bpm , rr - 20 rpm and bp - 130/90mm/hg. what will do as an emergecy care .waiting for your reply , Thank You. Kishore

I can understand your concern.
As a emergency care, I will first auscultate the lungs to look for breath sounds and air entry.
Secondly I will get done chest x ray to rule out lung infection and pleural effusion because these can cause chest pain.
If chest x ray and auscultation are normal then possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more.
And this can be associated with spondylitis.
So patient needs painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs.
