What Does Colonscopy/endoscopy Finding 'The I-C Valve Is Stenos Indicate?
My son has just had a colonscopy/endoscopy and the report says: 'The I-C valve is stenosed and the colonoscope cannot enter.' Is this very serious? My son has been diagnosed with Crohn's Disease but has been mostly well over the last two years. (We will have an opportunity to discuss results with the specialist in 2 weeks' time)
Hello, IC valve Stenosis indicates that the junction between the large and small intestine has become narrow. Such stenosis (narrowing ) is common in people with Crohn's Disease. The stricture can be because of acr\tive disease or due to scarring from healed crohns disease. In case your son does not have any symptoms you can wait and follow up. In case he has symptoms Dilatation of the stricture can be done endoscopically using a balloon
