Whats wrong with my grandmother/? for about a year she has been getting what she calls sick spells were she gets to like she feels really, really bad. then it goes away for a while then comes back again. she gets to coughing alot and its hard for her to swallow things too. for the past couple days she has been coughing up blood. i feel so bad because she went to the docter and there not really sure what it is.(plus shes 79*) please help us.
I am sorry to hear that your grandmother is ill and that she is coughing up blood. From your narrative your grandmother is 79 years old and has been ill for the past couple of days with new onset of blood when coughing. This is an indication that she either has infection in her lungs or sinuses or has some type of injury to her bronchial tree. She has already seen a doctor and they have no diagnosis. In my practice I would look further into her symptoms and continue to investigate with x-rays, and CT scans to find the cause of her cough.
