hi upper back pain is due to weight gain causing additional pressure on the spine and hence backache so nothing to worry. the contractions you are experiencing are called Braxton hick contractions which are not labour pains as they do not dilate the cervix . in case you have labour pains it will be accompanied with a stick discharge called show and will keep increasing in intensity and won't subside on its own . just keep a watch on fetal movements . all the best take care .
