What Does Cystic Changes Of The Endometrium From Transvaginal Ultrasound Indicate?

I recently had a transvaginal ultrasound that showed cystic changes of the endometrium. My Dr. suggested a D + C to further examine. I am 52, take provera for 10 days then off for 1 month, and have my period some months but skip occasionally. I ve had a few other medical issues in the past 2 years and I m wondering if there is any connection- I was diagnosed with Parkinson s about a year and a half ago, I have Hashimoto thyroiditis for several years now, about 1 1/2 yrs ago I had a precancerous polyp removed during a routine colonoscopy, about the same time i had a precancerous beauty mark removed, about 2 yrs ago i was anemic and need IV infusion, recently showed vitamin D deficiency. My ultrasound also shows multiple fibroid tumors (largest is 4.5x3.8x4.8) and a 1.8 cm complicated ovarian cyst. About 25 years ago I had cryosurgery due to precancerous cells found after an irregular pap and biopsy- hpv virus.

Hello,

Based on the information you have provided, it is important to follow your doctor's recommendations for further evaluation of the cystic changes in your endometrium. The suggested D + C procedure can help determine the cause of these changes and rule out any potential complications.

It is possible that some of your medical issues could be related, but it is difficult to determine without a complete evaluation by a healthcare provider. Your doctor may recommend further testing or referrals to specialists based on your medical history and current symptoms.

It is important to continue to prioritize your health and follow all recommendations for screening and preventative care, including regular follow-up appointments and any necessary screenings or procedures. Make sure to discuss any concerns or questions with your healthcare provider, and be proactive in managing your health.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. H. Kay, General & Family Physician
