What Does Delay In Periods & Endometrium Thickning Of 14.6mm Suggest?

Hi, I had my last period on 10th March 2014, I was expecting one on 9th April, however it has not started yet (been 6 days). HPT is showing negative however when i did a ultra sound it says endometrium thickened - 14.6mm but nothing seen in the uterus (right ovary follicle 21.6mm), Are there chances that I am pregnant or is there anything that i need to be worried about? Not done a blood test yet, but if the blood test is negative then I am surely not pregnant right?

Hello and welcome,
A thick endometrium may be as a result of pregnancy or due to excessive estrogen.

A urine test may not come positive before at least a week after the missed period. A blood test will be more conclusive.

I suggest that you get a blood test now and if it is negative take a progesterone like devery after consulting your doctor. If the periods come after the progesterone, it indicates an excess estrogen and you will need further investigations and management accordingly.

Hope this satisfies your query.
