What Does Elevated Ast & Alt Levels Suggest?

My son has type 1 diabetes. He had routine bloodwork from his endochronologist. He had his ast and alt levels repeated and are elevated. The other results of the hepatic panel are normal. He feels fine and says probably nothing. I am a wreck being a mom and nurse. Any advice???

Welcome to healthcare magic! What are his ALT , AST levels? Are they marginally raised. If his all other liver function tests are normal and he doesn't have any symptoms, then marginally raised AST/ALT levels are not significant. Repeat levels after 2-3 months, he should avoid painkillers, alcohol, smoking before going for test.
