What Does Fainting During An Eye Examination Indicate?

Hello, I just wanted some information regarding lasik. Years ago, I fainted after an eye examination. It wasn t because I m particular squimish or anything though. The eye doctor said it was rare and attributed it to something I forget the name of. After some research it might have been Vasovagal Syncope. I don t really know. But I wanted to know, is this something that will affect me being eligible? I m assuming I should disclose it when I go in for a consultation, correct? Thank you for the help.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It does sounds like vasovagal syncope and it is quite common in young people. Don't worry. It won't affect you in anyway.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
