What Does Foetuses Kidneys Show Minimal Fullness Of Pelvic Caliceal System Mean?

Hi Docor, Iam 17 weeks pregnant.My ultrasonic results shows that the foetal both kidneys show minimal fullness of pelvic caliceal system.Is this a major problem? my consulting doctors says that this symptom can be often seen in a particular gender but she didnt reveal the gender of the foetus? I would like to know which gender is my baby?

hi yes it can be seen in male fetuses in case of posterior urethral valve and it s not a matters of concern as it subsides in most cases when the baby urinates after birth. in case it is severe increase in pelvicalayceal diameter then it is matter of concern as can be associated with kidney disorders. but in your case nothing to worry . all the best take care.
