What Does Greenish Nipple Discharge Indicate?

I just turned 50 years old in Sept. 2013. Just tonight, 01/26/2014, I discovered a very strange "greenish" tinted discharge coming from the "milk glands" in my left breast nipple. There was a tingling sensation, to which I rubbed my breast lightly, but it was more of an "itch" right in center of nipple. I removed my shirt, was grasping my nipple, to tilt it upward so I could see the center of the nipple, and this "green discharge" oozed out! Its like "ink"

It is important to rule out any infection or underlying lesions causing the symptoms. Clinical breast examination, microscopy of discharge and mammogram are needed at this point. So please follow up with your primary provider at the earliest.
