What Does Grey Stool Following Knee Replacement And Gall Bladder Removal Indicate?
I had my gall bladder removed over two years ago. Three weeks ago I had total knee replacement surgery. About a week ago I began to feel abnormal, and two days ago I passed a gray stool. Since then, I have had gray stools, and most recently loose gray.

What Does Grey Stool Following Knee Replacement And Gall Bladder Removal Indicate?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Passing gray or pale stools may be due to lack of bile pigments in stools. It seems to be conditions like obstructive jaundice or acute hepatitis or other biliary cirrhosis etcetera. Until the examination done, it is difficult to say what this is. Get urine and stool examined for direct or indirect bilirubin. Please consult your gastroenterologist, he will examine and treat you accordingly. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
