I find myself holding my breath all the time! its strange. I used to do it when I was a competitive baton twirler, but only during routines and then would actually hyperventilate after and have to breath in a paper bag, but that was 30 years ago. now I find that I do it just all the time and realize it when I take a deep breath. my husband notices it a lot. I really don t know why I m even asking about it today since its been going on so long.
Hi welcome to HCM I understand your query and concern You are acclimatised with this pattern of breathing since many years.So do not worry.You should be concerned only if you have shortness of breath,discomfort while breathig chest pain,dizziness,panic attacks,bluish discolouration of fingers or toes.Once the investigations like Chest x ray PA view,lung function tests,Ventilation-perfusion ratio,Arterial blood gas analysis,2 dimensional echocardiography of your heart to look for your lung function.If everything is normal nothing to worry.Breathing exercises daily will be helpful for good oxygenation and tissue perfusion in your case.Consult your pulmonologist for expert management.
