Hi What are your qualifications? and whom am I speaking with I had a CT scan recently that reports thickeneing on the bibasal lung fields. I am 44 years old never smoked. I have a history of asthma and have had multiple pneumonia and bronchitis infections. I often feel lethargic dizzy and nauseous could it be related to my scan results.Recently my LFTs are also abnormal ALP elevated. My GP must think Im a hypochondriac as I often consult him for testys when feeling unwell and I have no answers as yet
Thickening in the bibasal region may be because of pleural thickening or may be because of resolved pneumonia with fibrosis. It may be because of asbestos or chronic bronchiectasis a common sequel of infection . But in all these I don't think if you are symptomatically better there is any need of any intervention . Just think it's old scar of your previous infections . Your feelings of dizziness lethargic and nausea do not seems to be because of it.but as you have mentioned your liver enzymes are elevated this may be the cause of nausea and lethargy . You discuss all this with your physician he can better assess you and can explain you better.if he think that you need opinion of pulmonary specialist then he can refer you to him but first of all its internal medicine doctor who can assess you best in my opinion . Hope this will help..I am MD internal medicine .
