What Does Intrauterine Adhesion Shown On Ultrasound During Pregnancy Denote?
I am 20 weeks pregnant and just had my 20 week ultrasound done. The tech found tissue connecting from one part of the uterus to another. It looks like a tube. The baby looks healthy and the tube is not directly in the middle. I have done some research and maybe its a intrauterine adhesion. If this may be the case, can the baby thrive in the womn?
Hi, I have gone through your question. A band of tissue inside the uterus during pregnancy can be amniotic band which develops in pregnancy or can be any intrauterine adhesion which may be present prior to pregnancy. These bands usually do not cause much problem, but may occasionally the fetus or any part may entwine around the band and may lead to decreased blood supply to that body part leading to its deformity or amputation. I would suggest you to consult a fetal medicine specialist so that you get proper counselling and a proper level 2 ultrasound to detect any major or minor fetal anomalies if present. Hope this answers your question. Wishing you good health.
