What Does It Mean For Nails Of Toes To Grow Down Into The Skin?
I have a four year old daughter. The nails on both 3rd toes have always grown down into the skin at the top of her toenails. I just noticed that this is happening to nearly all of her small toes on both feet. Is this indicative of some sort of problem?
hi, Thanks for writing to us. It seems she is having ingrown toe nails or onychocryptosis. It is a common nail condition. In your child probably tight stockings or tight shoes with very little toe box room could have caused it. To avoid the same, make sure that she wears comfortable shoes. Make her dip her feet in warm water and then lift the embedded nail ends to cut it straight. This should help her out. Take care.
