What Does Large, Painful Lump On Outer Right Thigh Indicate?
I found a large lump on my outer right thigh about halfway between my waist and my knee. It is painful to touch. I have been running a good amount and doing squats, but hadn t exercised for a day and a half when it appeared. I have a race this coming weekend (3 mi, 5 mi, 5 mi over 24 hours) and I want to know if it is okay to run on. I iced it and elevated it last night when I found it and have also started taking excedrin.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Is there any history of trauma to the outer aspect of thigh? Trauma is the most common cause of pain and lump on outer aspect of thigh. Other than trauma, pain can be due to muscular spasms, however, muscular spam will not cause lump. If the pain and swelling is responding to conservative measures like icing and elevation, you can continue that. However, if there is no relief, you will have to consult your primary healthcare provider.
