What Does Leaking Fluid And Yellow Discharge During 41 Weeks Indicate?
Hi I am 41 weeks and 4 days. I have a clear sometimes yellow discharge and it feels like I am leaking fluid from my vigina should I be worried. I saw my dr on friday and he said that it is to early to indue and if he does I will end up having a ceasar. He said that if baby haven't arrived by friday he will have to do a ceasar. Do I have to let him know about the discarge or is this normal?
You should inform him about the yellow discharge with leaking ASAP, since it can be due to infection. May be you had infection which started yellow discharge. This infection can cause damage to the membranes around the baby causing leaking of the fluid around the baby. If complete fluid gets drained out, the baby will be in dry atmosphere and will have to be delivered by Caesarean section as an emergency.
As it is you are 41 weeks pregnant. So the baby is fully mature. If due to this discharge and leaking, immediate caesarean section has to be performed, there is no risk to the baby. I feel you should not delay the delivery now.
The other possibility is that the mucous plug in the mouth of the uterus is getting unplugged. However, it is bloody thick discharge, not yellow watery one.
Please do not delay. Report to your Obstetrician about these events ASAP.
Wish you uneventful and successful delivery with a bonny baby.
