Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Low Blood Sugar Level Of 2 Mmol/L And Blood Pressure 105/47 Indicate?
My mother is 83 years of age, diabetic but lately has reverted to low blood, sometimes of 4 at night, she has also been seen to go to a dramatic 2 blood sugar in the middle of the night. NOW her blood pressure is 105/47. Is that dangerous? She has complained of dizziness.
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Low blood sugar and reduced blood pressure possibly means, your mother is being over medicated or she is taking over dose of medications. 2. This blood sugar level is too low and could cause dizziness and severe brain damage. 3. Along with hypotension, hypoglycemia will complicate and could cause fall and severe injury. 4. Meet your doctor at the earliest for further evaluation. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
