What Does Low Lying Placenta Signify During Pregnancy?

Iam 26 now, iam pregnent. It is 6th month now. Iam seeing a gynecologist regualry for my check ups. During the last visit my doctos asked me to take a scan. In that it showed the the placenta is low, . What is meant by placenta low lying. and i am advised to have bed rest. What effects it have on my baby and on me.

At this time of pregnancy does,t mean that placnta will be low.with growing pregnancy and uterus placenta may shift higher up so it is the last month USG report which indicate real position.
