Last night I found a lump on my labia majora; it has no head, is a hard lump under the skin and is about the size of the top of my small finger. I thought it could be because of shaving; but it doesn’t look like it and it is really big. This morning it popped and a little bit of pus mixed with blood came out, but not much. I don’t have a mum and I don’t really want to ask my dad about this, I also can’t afford to go to the doctor.I’m 15 and not sexually active (if that helps) What is it? What should I do?

Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Your problem is most likely bartholin cyst or folliculitis. You can apply hot towel to get relief from pain and swelling. You can apply betadine ointment locally also. It is better to get a local examination by a gynecologist to rule out that if not improving. I usually treat such condition with antibiotics like clindamycin as vaginal suppository or as oral tablet. If there is abscess then i advise incision and drainage. I also recommend my patients to use intimate wash regularly to normalize vaginal bacterial flora and PH and there by prevent from getting further infections. Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further queries.
