What Does Missed Periods Post Medical Abortion Indicate?
Hi Doctor, My wife got medical abortion on sep 20th and 22nd (unwanted pills) after which she had a heavy bleeding for 5-6days..As it is 22nd of Oct She still dint get her periods got tensed and we went to doctor. Dr recommend for Ultrascan than we got a ultrasound check on, results showed some particles are left inside. And she suggested us to go for surgical abortion..which my wife is quite worried of..to take a second opinion.plz guide us.. 1. Will She get her periods even some particals left inside her? 2. If she avoids(surgical medical) this will it be serious problem??? 3. And if She get her periods will that small particles comes out?? Plz advice us... Thanks in advance

Missed abortion after medical abortion suggests retain product of conception or abnormal development of pregnancy.
1. Yes she will get period if some particle left inside. But it cause excessive bleeding and high chance of infections
2. You can not avoid surgical abortion. It cause excessive bleeding, infertility problem , ectopic pregnancy and molar pregnancy.
3. Some time if tissue is very small, it will come out in the period. But why to take chance, For safe practice you have to treat it, If you do not want surgical process, you can also take misoprostol tablet under the observation of gynecologist.
Take rest, healthy diet with iron supplements.
