What Does Missed Periods, Spotting, Migraines With HPT Negative Mean?

My period is 74 days late. About 3 weeks ago I spotted very briefly just enough to notice and that was it. I took a test and it was negative now on days 73 I took another test and it was negative as well. I ve been getting migraines and I only get those when my period is about to start. I m dead tired to the point I sleep till 4 pm and am still tired. I ve gained 5 pounds. And am hungry a lot. I do have a substance abuse issue and I ve always gotten my period regularly to the point you could set a clock to me. I ve been weaning off the oxy and when I do less or withdraw It usually triggers my period early so I m very confused. There s no reason I should be late.

Hello,

In my opinion, your symptoms and delayed periods can be due to absence of ovulation.

Please seek prescription support from your treating doctor for withdrawal bleeding. Tablet Regestrone, twice a day for 5 days will be of help. Withdrawal bleeding occurs in 3 to 10 days after finishing the tablets.

Please get USG done to know about the uterus and ovarian volume and echo texture, to rule out PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome).

Please seek counseling to stop drug abuse. Opt for a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen. Use of Folic acid, vitamin B12, and long-acting form of vitamin B6, and evening primrose oil supplements regular use for 3 months is advisable. Indulge in recreational activities, meditate regularly and think positive.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar
