Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a pacemaker am on coumadin, metoporal, midodrine, have had a stroke in July. Am a 46 yr old female who until all this ran regularly in marathons. Today I have been running a fever and had uncontrollable diarrhea. Now there is mucus and blood in the diarrhea. Should I go to ER or wait until morning?
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern, from the history given here I could say that this could be Bacillary dysentery if I would be treating physician then I would teat this case with the "Tab Metronidazole 400 mg twice in day for 7 days" and get very good result in such cases, if you are taking other medicines then its okay you may continue the same, hope this information helps you, have nice day.
