What Does Multiple Tears And Multiple Bulging Discs In Lumbar Mean?
I just had an MRI yesterday and within 4 hours I received results that I have multiple tears and multiple bulging discs in my lumbar-nothing more than that and neither of these are touching nerves. Pain started 8 months ago, did only 3 weeks of PT and no results, actually it seemed to make it worse. I then had cortisone injection and it masked the pain until 2 months ago. I have no shooting pain or numbness that radiates down leg, only occasional pain in my sciatica but pretty severe pain in lumbar. I was referred to a neurosurgeon and really wondering if it is a waste of time or that he may actually do surgery for relief.
Hi Welcome to healhcaremagic After going through your query I concluded that you are having multiple disc prolapse. but MRI is not showing significant compression of nerve roots. I think as multiple dics are involved then surgery isn't indicated.Best treatment for you will be physiotherapy and analgesic such as ibuprofen. Mecobalamine is useful. You can discuss with your Doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to help you. Wishing you good health.Take care.
