Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just received results of my second CT scan. The first showed a possible mass on the pancreas and abnormally shaped pancreas but the image was not clear. Second scan resulted in diagnosis of atrophy of the pancreas as well as liver hemangioma. My question is could the atrophied pancreas be caused from a serious car accident I had in 1990 that resulted in 2 wks of hospitalization without food due mostly to seriously bruised pancreas or is it a new event? Do I need to call a specialist?
you have to visit a gastroenterologist. it might be due to chronic pancreatitis. do you have symptoms like loose stools abdominal bloating. liverhemangioma is benign tumour that will do nothing harm. but for atrophic ancreatitis if you have symptoms you have to take enzyme supplement for digestion of food.
