What Does Non Calcified Pulmonary Nodule On Lung In Scan Report Indicate?
I got a CT scan done on my abdomen and pelvis and my doctor found an incidental finding he said it was a non calcified pulmonary nodule on my right lung. I read a lot about it and it says so much about cancer. Is this serious please help I m so scared.
Thanks for your question on HCM. Yes, you are right. Pulmonary nodule in lung always confuse doctors about malignancy. There are certain things in CT suggest malignancy more.like 1. Irregular margins 2. Absence of calcification. 3. Relation with surrounding structures. So it is dictum that if you see calcification in nodule there are very less chances of malignancy. So no need to worry. You can do one thing, get done follow up CT After 6 months and if the nodule is same in size than no need to worry it is benign only.
