What Does Numbness On Skin Above The Knee And Ankle Mean?

I woke up today with a numbness in the outer layer of skin on my left shin. It starts above the knee and goes to my ankle. It is mostly on the upper and outer side. I m almost in bed and it has not disappeared or changed. Is this something to see my physician about?

Hello,

I can understand your concern for the numbness on skin above the knee and ankle. After analyzing the query I can get that you probably have parasthesia condition or it might be related to normal process which can occur in our day to day life. I suggest you to just observe if any new clothes or anything new came in contact with your son.
In my patients with your kind of condition I generally suggest to go for vitamin B 12 level. It is one of the most common causes of such kind of health issues. I prescribe vitamin B complex tablets in your kind of cases. You can observe the area for few days and if it increases then you can take further guidance from a doctor.
All the best.
