What Does Oblique Insufficiency Fracture Of The Medial Femoral Condyle Mean?
sI have recently done an MRI of my L knee because I developed atraumatic medial knee pain. The MRI shows an oblique insufficiency fracture of the medial femoral condyle with intense local bone oedema. There was no focal chondral defect at the fracture site. There were mild osteodegenerative changes in the medial compartment. There is also an irregular degenerative flap tear of the body and posterior horn of the medial meniscus. I am on anti-inflamatories, rest and am wearing a knee brace. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE MY KNEE ORTHOPOPAEDIC SUGEON ON MONDAY. Must I do anything else and must I be completely free of weight bearing ?
Hello I have studied your case. Yes you need to keep complete non weight bearing till healing. you can continue non weight bearing knee rom exercises. Take good supplements of calcium and vitamin D. later on knee arthroscopic repair can be done for meniscus. I hope I have answered your questions. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us. I will be happy to answer. Take care.
