What Does Pain Around My Nose Imply?

Hello, for the past month having pain around my nose (the right side) almost out to my upper cheek under right eye. It hurts to touch it. The pain has moved to the top of my gums (almost directly under the right side of my nose) and when I lifted my lip a few minutes ago a lot of puss came out. Today is the first day I have noticed the bump/lump on my gums. Can this be from a sinus infection? 3 years ago I had nasal polyps removed and this past year i have started getting sinus infections again.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain pain around right side of nose that is extending till the area under the eyes with a history of nasal polyp removal can be due to sinusitis but in case if there has been pus discharge inside mouth along with lump over the gums, it can also be due to deep infection in any tooth or deep infection in gums leading to gum abscess..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can advise you an MRI or PNS view x ray of sinuses and also x ray of the tooth over which the lump is present..
In case if sinusitis is ruled out he can advise you antibiotics like Cephalexin or Levofloxacin, anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen or Naproxen, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine, steam inhalations and saline nasal irrigations along with decongestant and steroid nasal sprays..

In case if it is tooth infection you will be referred to a dentist and either a root canal treatment or extraction of teeth will help..
In case if there is gum infection deep scaling and curettage followed by antibiotics, painkillers , warm saline gargles, gargle with antiseptic mouthwash and gum paint application will help..
