Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have a mild pain in my chest and neck off and on. This has been going on for about 2 weeks. I went to the ER and was completely checked out. No heart attack or any problems. What could this be/ I am a 71 year old female in good health, taking no medications.
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.
The pain you feel on your chest and neck off and on could be due to muscular skeletal issues (spondyloarthrosis or costochondritis).
I advise to take anti-inflammatory meds to reduce the pain. Apply anti-inflammatory cream locally hoping this will help. Massage therapy of the spine and back can also help especially if essential oils (lavender) added.
If not, then, further MRI of the spine and chest X-ray are recommended to determine the right diagnosis as cardiovascular issues have been ruled out.
Hope this helps.
