Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Have had pain in my right knee for a month. It is hard to walk on. I have not fallen nor twisted my knee. I cannot stand on both legs for more than a minute or so, if I do the pain in my right knee increases. Two days ago a pain shot thru my calf like I had pulled the muscles there. Now when I walk my calf muscles hurt also. I have shooting pain from knee down and sometimes on my thighs. I am a 64 year old male, diabetic ( no insulin) and some high blood pressure (under control).

Dear pain may be muscular or articular or capsule originating. Until examination is done it is difficult to say from where pain is originating.Take rest, use cold and warm compression, use pain killer medication. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
