I have a very very painful lump on the fleshy part of my left buttock. Looked like a spot or infected hair follicle at first but has now grown and is about 2 inches across in size. It is under the skin and there is a lot of bruising around it. what could this be and more importantly how do I get rid of it?

Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. S. Samanta's Response
not to worry much as this is benign condition like an infected sebaceous cyst or as you mentioned an infected hair follicle!
if really worries you can go for an FNAC test for confirmation
all the best!
