Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Divakara's Response
HI
Thanks for posting your query.
Literally patchy paracardiac and retrocardiac areas means the region behind and beside the heart are not properly visible on the X ray .
The causes for this could be either wrong technique while taking X ray or it could be due to Infection of the lung or it could be due to some abnormal growth in the lungs.
It would be more helpful if you can tell me what are your problems and since how long you are having this problem?
Kindly revert back with details.
Regards.
