What Does Period Irregularity With Spotting, passing Large Clots And Cramp Signify?

My last period started on November 23. The one and only time I have had sex in the past 6 months was on December 20. My period was due the next day. Generally my cycle is pretty on time, with occassionally being a few days early. It has been over 2 months since my last period, but yesterday I started spotting. today I am not bleeding like with a period, but I am passing large blood clots and I have experienced much more painful cramps than usual. What does this mean?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The irregularity of the periods with the heavy bleeding that you are having is likely to be due to a dysfunctional uterine bleeding. This usually happens due to hormonal imbalance and can be treated.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
