What Does Posterior Placenta Covering The Internal Os During Pregnancy Mean?
i am 13 weeks 3 days pregnant with twins. I have been to have a scan today after a small bleed that I have a posterior placenta covering the internal Os. please can you explain this to me and the precautions I should be taking. very worried. this is my 2nd pregnancy no problems in first
hi madam, internal os is the opening of uterus into vagina. during delivery internal os dilates and the head of fetus comes out of uterus. in your case placenta is covering this internal os. so you will have problem during delivery. the placenta will not let the fetus come out. there will be a lot of bleeding. the best way to combat such complication is delivery by surgery i.e. Cesarean section.
