What Does Pyelonephritis And Urethritis In The CT Scan Mean?
My daughter went to the ED last night, for right sided pain. She had urinalysis which did not show evidence of infection or blood, it was normal. She had a CT scan and it demonstrated a few mild segmental hypodensities in the Right renal cortex of the kidney and hydroureter, mild diffuse enhancement right ureter consistent with pyelonephritis and ureterisitis. She has an appointment with a urologist tomorrow. What does this result mean?

pyelonephritis means FORMATION OF PUS IN KIDNEYS DUE TO SOME INFECTION and URETHRITIS means infection has spread downwards from kidneys to her urinary tract
