What Does "active Motile Sperms-20%" In Semen Analysis Suggest?
i am 32 y old and semen report is volum is2.5ml consistancy thick less oplascent color off white liquefication 30 min ph 7.6 blood nil, total count 51m/ml active motile 20% Slugglish40% dead 40% pus cell 4-5 red blood cell 4-5 epithelial cell few, morphology 50%
hello user , This report suggests that your sperm count is ok ( atleast 20 million should have been there ) , Ph ok ( normal range is 7.2-8.0) , liquefication time is ok , and morphology is ok too - however the motility os sperms is reduced which can hamper fertility - and the presence of pus cells and RBC indiacte towards possible infection of internal structures that produce and store semen and thus further investigations like sperm culture is warranted for confirmation - if confirmed , it can be treated with antibiotics and then hopefully the sperm motility will improve - also the report needs to be repeated after about 6 weeks and minimum 2 days of abstinence for better interpretation - meanwhile drinking a lot of water , eating fruits and green leafy vegetables , avoiding smoking, alcohol and caffeine and ensuring a good night sleep can help too. consult a reproductive endocrinologist / fertility specialist for evaluationa nd treatment. hope i naswered your query - if satisfied please rate the answer
