What Does "unsatisfactory Syphilis" With Negative Chlamydia Tests Mean?
recently i got tested bc my partner went for her girly examine n came back positive for chlamydia. i went n got tested and was negative, then got tested again bc didnt make sense. which i came back negative again but they still gave me meds to take. said they'd call me if i tested positive and never got a call. got a letter in the mail yesterday and says im negative for everything i was tested for and under other they hand wrote "unsatisfactory syphilis" so i dont know what that means n when i went to call them they are closed fridays

"Unsatisfactory syphilis" essentially means that you need to retest for syphilis. By unsatisfactory they mean that the sample you submitted was not suitable for testing. Specimens that are hemolyzed, contaminated with bacteria, chylous, turbid or contain particulate matter are considered unsatisfactory. I would suggest that you contact the concerned lab as soon as it reopens next week and take up another test for syphilis.
