What Does Sharp Pain In The Abdomen And Ribcage Indicate?
I m a 60-year-old woman in good health with no medical problems. Last night, I was awaken at 3:00 AM with a sharp pain in my stomach area. It then grew to include my ribs and restricted my breathing. The pain seemed to worsen as I lay in bed, so I got up to walk around. I was bent over slightly and could barely straighten up. I tried to concentrate on taking deep breaths and keep moving. Before it subsided I had broken into a sweat and was dizzy. The pain subsided and I went back to bed, only to have the pain in my stomach and ribs start all over again. I once again got up out of bed to try and walk it off thinking it may just be a bad gas attack. There was no vomiting with my symptoms and I had nothing out of the ordinary for dinner last evening.
