What Does Sharp Pain In The Groin Area In A Breast Cancer Patient Indicate?

I m having a sharp pain in the groin area at the top of my right leg. Sometimes when I m walking its like i have a pinched nerve and I can t put weight on it. My concern is, I had breast cancer, a double mastectomy. My mother also had breast cancer. I have the BRC2 gene. My mother then got bladder cancer and passed away from it. She complained about pain in her leg down to her knee. I don t have current doctor and I m not sure what kind of doctor I need to find.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It can be a strain of the muscles, ligaments, or tendons in the groin area.
You can see your physician for a physical examination and an ultrasound to exclude any other cause.
Meanwhile, you can take painkillers for the pain such as ibuprofen 400 mg.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
