Hi, I have gone through your question. Single loop of umbilical cord around the fetus means that the umbilical cord has entwined itself around the foetus during the fetal movements in the amniotic fluid. It's presence at 30 weeks of pregnancy is not worrisome as there is still enough space for the fetus to move and the cord can then spontaneously detangle.
The placenta is usually normal in such cases, but the ultrasound report has to be relied upon.
If the cord loop persists till the time of delivery, then it may cause non progress of labour, and in such case caesarean section has to be done.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
